Scott has a passion for old buildings and has done from an early age. He has 10 years experience of surveying historic and listed buildings having surveyed a range of different buildings throughout his career; from castles to Georgian cottages, from large stately homes to old timber framed barns and from museums to small basement flats.

Scott also specialises in damp and timber decay issues and has undertaken thousands of damp surveys, not once did he ever recommend a chemically injected damp proof course!

With 25 years experience in the conservation and restoration industry, a Msc in Architecture: Advanced Environmental and Energy studies, Master Plasterer status, and FIS 2023 Mentor of the Year, Ben has a wealth of knowledge to share.

Ben is the lead tutor at carringtonLIME Heritage Skills Training where he teaches people how to lime plastering and lime point as well leading on the teaching of a range of recognised qualifications in understanding traditional construction.

He was awarded 2023 Mentor of the Year by the FIS & Plaisterers Guild Training Awards, awarded Master Plasterer and is a member of the SPAB Technical Committee

Charlotte has 20 years of heritage experience, knowledge and understanding, policy and practice, and is a full member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC).

Charlotte worked as an archaeologist at Sandwell Borough Council for 5 years then relocated to Gloucester City Council and worked as Principal Conservation Officer for 13.5 years leaving in November 2021 to concentrate on Inspire Heritage Services in a full-time capacity.

Across both roles Charlotte collaborates closely with stakeholders such as Historic England, Architectural Heritage Fund, National Heritage Lottery Fund, and local and national amenity societies.

Simon has been working in the built environment industry for 20 years, specialising in traditionally constructed buildings and has been helping clients purchase, repair and refurbish them alongside work as a Senior Lecturer of Building Surveying at Sheffield Hallam University.

Simon can help with Pre and post-purchase damp surveys, understanding/undertaking ‘further investigations’ that other surveyors may recommend. Discussing the implications of defects found in survey reports, trying to quantify risk and provide pragmatic, experience-based advice on any required remedial works.

He can also review Architects/contractors’ plans/proposals for repairs/refurbishment/retrofit works and advise of any concerns about how their proposals may affect the existing structure.

Darren is a Architectural Assistant with a BA (Hons) Degree in Architecture and a Level 3 Certification in PAS:2035 Retrofit of Traditional Buildings. He has extensive experience in over a decade of working with listed and non-listed traditional and buildings as well as contemporary design.

Darren has experience working with buildings as early as the 16th Century up to the present day ranging from timber frames to stone and brick. He has extensive knowledge and understanding of building physics and how materials interact and has hands on experience of working with lime plasters, brick laying, concrete casting, glazing, etc.

Tiffany is a professional heritage consultant and archaeologist with over a decade’s experience working in the historic environment sector.

She is a fully accredited member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA) and the Institute for the Conservation of Historic Buildings (IHBC) at their highest level, as well as serving as a Trustee of The Victorian Society.
